They have a return policy and they honored it for me no questions asked, which I really appreciated. Its pedaling sucks (no half pedaling or repedaling), and it's playability isn't the best (though not bad) but it does have a great out of the box sound and the best sound design features of any piano VST. You mighttt also want to check out the aforementioned hammer+waves. I still think you should check it out simply because it they have a return policy and the lite version is only 39! It's a very dry sound out of the box though and I think sounds best with an external reverb. You're probably the first person I can remember saying the embertone sounds digital! The different mic positions do significantly change the sound quality though. Do you want something that just sounds like a professional recorded track out of the box? Do you want a VST with good reverb and other features to design the sound you want? Or do you just want the most realistic piano sound to your ears and will then tweak it to get it where you want?
I think part of the question when it comes to 'recording' is how much work you're willing to put in on your end.
